The 20th Breviarian Big Tent Festival Goes International — Thailand 2025!

For 26 years, the Breviarians have journeyed together in faith — serving Christ through prayer, music, media, and the arts. Each year, the Breviarian Big Tent Festival (BBTF) gathers young Catholics to rediscover the beauty of the Eucharist and the rhythm of the Liturgy. It is a time of renewal, leadership formation, and joyful encounter with the Lord.

This year, the Brevs reach a new milestone. The 20th Breviarian Big Tent Festival is being held in Thailand, marking the first-ever international gathering in our community’s history. With the theme “Come and See” (John 1:39), this Eucharistic-Liturgical Youth Leadership Camp brings together Breviarians and young people from different nations — united as Pilgrims of Hope in celebration of the Jubilee Year 2025.

The Festival features pilgrimages to sacred sites, cultural exchanges, and moments of deep prayer and formation. More than just an event, BBTF20 is a living witness to how God continues to move among the youth — forming leaders with clarity, conviction, and compassion.

As the Breviarians continue to BRing EVery Soul TO Christ the King, this year’s Big Tent reminds us that the mission has no borders. The Eucharist unites us, Christ sends us, and His love compels us to go farther — to encounter, to serve, and to shine.

Rev. Fr. Benedict Jason Lopez a.k.a. Big Brev is Now a Parish Priest

Last August 24, the Sta. Barbara Parish — together with the Breviarians — joyfully welcomed Big Brev, Rev. Fr. Benedict Jason Lopez in his installation as Parish Priest.

The celebration, marked by a Holy Mass presided by Bishop Rafael T. Cruz, was not just an event but a blessing for the entire community.

Every installation reminds us that the Church is alive, moving, and calling us to go deeper in service. Father BJ’s courageous “yes” is an invitation for us to also renew our own “yes” to God’s mission — in our families, our communities, and beyond.

A Brevstock Invitation

Beyond music, The Grand Finalists will be identifying their respective choice of advocacy or outreach in the school or community. The winners will be awarded grants to realise their Advocacy of Mercy and Compassion (COMRADES). Non-winners will also continue to do so with the grants to be given through their Brevstock Clubs. All these in honor of the Pastoral Visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, the Vicar of Christ, to the Philippines, on January 15-19, 2015, with his pastoral theme, ‘Mercy and Compassion’.

Pope Benedict XVI announces his resignation at end of month

Pope Benedict XVI announces his resignation at end of month

Pope Benedict XVI on Monday said he plans on resigning the papal office on February 28th. Below please find his announcement.

Full text of Pope's declaration

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the barque of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.
From the Vatican, 10 February 2013

BENEDICTUS PP XVI
