Servant Leaders Discovery Weekend

This 29th-30th of September 2012, we will be sending 3 Lisieux Brevs to an overnight activity by the National Youth Commission dubbed as "Servant Leaders Discovery Weekend."  They are Aimee Melissa Trinidad (Brevs Cathedral Chapter Coordinator), Angela Purita Trinidad (LisieuxBrevs President), and Raymond Manongdo (Lisieux Brother).  These three are faithful members of our weekday Vespers Team.

Let us pray for the success of this activity and for the delegates to be efficiently equipped in doing NOTHING BUT THE BEST FOR GOD!

Thank You, Dear Bishop

Our hearts are overwhelmed with the support of our dear Bishop Carlito J Cenzon, Bishop of the Diocese of Baguio, for endorsing our upcoming concert, Brevstock 13.

We are forever grateful.  God bless you always, apo Bishop!

Message from the Concert Director

Hi Fellow Breviarians!

Brevstock 13 GroundZero is coming this Dec. 7 & 8, 2012. This will be a charity event where people will gather to achieve one goal. The concert will be an avenue for non exclusivity and diversity. A place where people get to share themselves. This is a start of a new movement in Baguio. A Restoration of hopes and dreams. We aim to help and give part of ourselves. This is our thanksgiving to God and we share all our blessings to everyone. This is not just a plain concert but a chance to be part of helping lives, most especially the lives of our young...the Youth!

The tagline "1,000 Voices, a Thousand Dreams, One Foundation." aims to gather at least 1,000 people from Baguio uniting to help build the dreams of our young people. They become builders of our society and are united because of our faith and music which we offer to God.

All proceeds are to be given to our beneficiaries. This means that the people watching will be the ones helping our cause. We the Breviarians are merely the tools and the audience are the builders. With their Php100 worth ticket, a pipe and a piece of wood are already donated. Thus, we aim to have all expenses sponsored.

This year we will be tying up with ISA (Initiatives for Social Action) to pledge Php50,000 to help build the water system of the Aeta Community at Sitio Yangka. We pledge to give Php20,000 to help build chairs and tables for the Happy Hallows Elementary School (Grade 1). We also pledge to give Php 20,000 to help build another set of chairs and tables for the Rizal Annex at Pacdal. All the remaining proceeds would then be used for our next project and for helping other less fortunate brethren. We take less so that we could give more. As God has told us to love our fellow brothers and sisters.

With this, we ask for your help and support so that we can make this possible. We, as the builder’s tool, will create the venue and the thanksgiving concert. This will be our part of the movement. Please contact me or Kuya Alex or Ate cHacHi if you want to provide your support.

We need all the help that we can get. We will be giving out a financial report for transparency purposes. This is our chance to share ourselves to God and our fellow brothers.

If you need the full project details, please don't hesitate to contact me as well. Here's my number 09165440263. Please invite people to watch our gala night on Dec. 8, 2012. Let’s move to get 1,000 people to watch. This is the night of the 1,000 builders. Invite more people and be part of a new history.

God bless all and OTCHO!

Brevstock 13 - Ground Zero

BREVSTOCK is an annual youth concert dedicated to Christ the King in thanksgiving for the year that has been and for the year that will be. It is one of the major outreach ministries of the Breviarians gathering musically talented youth and providing them a venue to showcase their God-given craft as an expression of their faith.

Launched in December of the Great Jubilee Year 2000, BREVSTOCK has since created a cult following with its annual year-ending live concerts that feature the best in Contemporary Christian Music. BREVSTOCK unites every young and old in giving thanks to God through music regardless of religious denominations or affiliations.

BREVSTOCK derived its name from Woodstock and its concept of bands playing one after the other. Christianizing it so to speak, the Breviarians dropped the word, “wood” , for Brev, and thus came BREVSTOCK, which eventually embodied the spirit and vision-mission statement of the Breviarians, to “BRing EVery Soul TO Christ the King”.

In keeping its relevance to the need of the times beyond its concept, BREVSTOCK 13 now turns its eye to seeing Christ in the poor and the needy. Labelled, GROUND ZERO, BREVSTOCK gears to restore lost hopes, rebuild broken dreams and heal shaken faiths by adopting Initiatives for Social Action Foundation as a beneficiary to support its pro-poor programs. ISA Foundation has of late been in contact with the Aeta community in the mountains of Sitio Yanka in Capas, Tarlac, which is in dire need of a basic need – WATER.

As there are 10,000 reasons to bless the Lord, here we are working to unite 1000 voices, a thousand dreams towards one foundation to make that little community live life a little better. One touching comment says that the Aetas may not have known what they really need as they are one with nature and with God, but it is they and their plight that is moving us unknowingly to generosity, to compassion, and to love.

A water system may not be much to us as to even think about it, but would it be as priceless a gift to a people who has none?

Good News!!!

Attention Brevs!

Seems like the Lord has a different plan for this weekend.  All scheduled Battle of the Bands Boot Camps have been postponed by the schools concerned.  Hence, our Breviarian Formation Schedule will push through at 3PM CRC Hall on the 15th of September 2012.

Bro. A!, our formator, will give us a special formation on MUSIC so be sure not to miss this.

Change of Formation/Workshop Schedule this Weekend

First of all, we are very happy to have Princess and Klee as our first guitarists who attended our first Guitar Workshop this year. We are hoping for more Brevs to join the training to better equip us in serving the Lord.

However, in as much as we would like to have a regular Saturday schedule for our workshops, we will be temporarily cancelling this weekend's schedule to give way to the schools requesting for Boot Camps. We presently have a tight schedule since the Battle of the Bands is fast approaching.

This Saturday, September 15, we have Saint Louis University Laboratory High School and St. Louis School of Aurora Hill scheduled for the Boot Camp. The former will have it at 1:00 PM while the latter will be at 4:30 PM. Whew! Hope we finish all bands.

God is great! Let's keep on praying and BRing EVery Soul TO Christ the King!

September Formation Schedules

This September, we will be having two familiar speakers for our formation.

On the 8th of September, our guest speaker is  Bro. Ariel Agsalud.  If you remember him, he was one of the speakers last Big Tent Festival 11 and 12.  On the 29th of September, our speaker will be Bro. Bot.  He was the speaker on the topics:  Redeeming the Time and Beyond Fairness and Excellence.  We thank in a very special way the Rivers of Living Water Baguio Chapter for accommodating us.

Other Saturdays, we will have our Brev formators do the job. :)

Formation still starts at 3:00 PM at the Charismatic Renewal Center (CRC Hall). A short group and individual sharing follows afterwards.

By the way, for those who would like to serve by being instrumentalists, here's the good news!  This coming Saturday, September 8, 2012, will be our first guitar workshop after a looonnggg time.  So be sure to be at the CRC Hall by 1:00PM and bring your own guitars.  Bro. Alex will be very happy to train you.
